Product Details

Blonde D’Aquitaine x Aberdeen Angus cattle roam free range at Foxbury Farm. The animals are fed on home grown silage (pickled grass), and hay (dried grass). Pack includes:
Diced Braising Steak (1kg)
Topside Roasting Joint (1.5kg)
Beef Sausages (500g)
Beef Mince (500g)
3 Sirloin Steaks (750g)

All meat is fresh and suitable for home freezing

About the Farm
Foxbury is an award winning traditional Oxfordshire mixed farm of some 750 acres (300 hectares) run by Colin, Di Dawes and family. Lying in quite an exposed position at 300 feet on the south-eastern edge of the glorious Cotswolds the farm is just off the A40 between Witney and Burford.

The meat for the CotswoldLife shop is reared on the farm and include well hung grass fed beef, rare breed Gloucestershire Old Spot pork and Grass fed lamb.

Grass and barley are grown to support the free-range livestock. Some corn is also grown as a cash crop and some off-farm contracting fills the quieter farming months.

All the meat that is supplied to readers of CotswoldLife is prepared and packed on farm by experienced butchers to ensure your delivery is of the highest quality.

A few years ago, as diversification became essential to agricultural survival, they decided to market their own clean meat direct to the public. Out of this decision has grown a full-time, dedicated on-farm butchery and a farm shop selling the meat and an expanding range of other local  and British products.

The shop now has 5 full-time and 7 part-time staff, whilst the farm has 4 full-time staff, which means that the decision to sell direct to the local community is paying dividends in terms of creating local employment. This is the reverse of current farming trends!
